Immediate Reaction to International Crises

Australian Aid International is an international non-profit, non-government organisation committed to mitigating the double burden of poverty and poor access to quality health care in regions where health systems have either collapsed or are in crisis through the provision of emergency medical care, general and public health services and capacity building.

In late-May, the Red Cross is facilitating an interesting discussion on the important humanitarian principle Responsibility to Protect.  There will be three expert speakers including Gareth Evans, Professor Damien Kingsbury and Dr Phoebe Wynn-Pope.  The topics will include an examination of R2P in relation to an important emerging concept called "Responsibility While Protecting", R2P from a prevention and development perspective and R2P during armed conflict and other situations of violence.  This event will conclude with an open Q&A session.
